Happy Monday everyone, today we are finishing this series. So we have one last staff member for you to meet- Bonnie Knight! Bonnie is from Las Vegas and previously interned with us for a year and a half. Now, God has called her back to CTC permanently. Since Friday, she is officially on staff as our internship coordinator! Bonnie's favorite verse is Romans 8:38-39 and some fun facts about her are: 1. I am a triplet. 2. I love trying new foods from different cultures. 3. I LO...VE coffee! We are so excited to have Bonnie rejoin us! Here is a GREAT reminder from Pastor Derek- CCLV - consider how much the Lord can use use DURING the pandemic! My daughter Hanna and I visited the Louvre in 2018. We were thrilled to see the crowning jewel of the museum, the Mona Lisa. It's an astounding work of art to behold. Watching people drink in the painting's beauty was almost as astounding (I understand now why the Mona Lisa is the most expensive painting of all time). But, could you imagine if on the day we visited ...they decided to cover it with a rug? We would have left the museum filled with disappointment, because seeing the Mona Lisa was the reason we went to the Louvre to begin with. Having the opportunity to talk to many pastors, I can tell you that a negative aspect of this pandemic is people's hesitancy to serve God by serving others. For many people, "social distancing," has also turned into "serving distancing." In other words, the mandated space between us has had a profound impact on how we serve each other. Most people have completely stopped serving others, even as guidelines have allowed for regathering. That's like throwing a rug over the most beautiful thing that God has given the world to behold, His serving church. It's time to take creative steps of faith and serve others. In the midst of all the ugliness, the beauty of serving others is what the world needs to see from God's people. Each step you choose to take is an opportunity for something beautiful to happen. Hey CTC fam and friends, got another Meet the Staff Monday for you! Today, we're doubling up and introducing Alma Gonzalez and Amelia Lazcano, our Ninos del Rey teachers. Three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) during the school year, Alma and Amelia come to the base and coordinate Ninos del Rey, our afterschool program that ministers to local kids, providing a meal, Bible lesson, activities and help with homework. Alma has been on staff since 2013 and Amelia since ...2017 and their favorite verses are Isaiah 43:14-16 and Philippians 2:14. While Alma and Amelia are not currently serving due to the ongoing circumstances, we are so grateful for them and all their hard work and we would appreciate your prayers and encouragement for them and NdR as we try to find new opportunities to reach and minister to the local kids during this time.
