Did you know that Stem Cell Therapy can be the key to boost your child's brain potential and learning abilities? When it comes to the brain, stem cells support learning and cognitive development by enhancing the disrupted unions between neurons. This re-union can represent access to knowledge that the child didn’t have previously, and that is usually manifested in faster learning, increased speech, better cognitive functionality, and overall in a decrease of autistic be...haviors. Pocketing Food Strategies and Causes in Kids Pocketing food is when a child holds on to food in their mouth without swallowing it. Most ASD kids will hold it in their cheeks or tucked behind or in front of their gums! Either way, it’s as if they’re sticking their food in a little pocket. This can be traced back to the following causes:... a) Sensory Processing. b) Oral Motor Skills. c) Uncomfortable Swallowing. How Can You Ease Food Pocketing? 1) Give your child small bites. 2) Sipping water after each bite. 3) Use a cup without a lid, this helps to flood the mouth with liquid and pull the pocked food down the throat better than a straw or sippy cup. Have you tried any of these strategies? Share your experience!

Hello families ! I'm Dr. Alberto Ortiz, Medical Director at #WSCC. In my practice, many parents in the #autism spectrum come to me with a common question... Do tantrums have an actual meaning? The answer is... YES! ... For many years, we were taught that tantrums were simply a product of "bad behavior" and that they needed to be ignored or corrected with nagging. However, recent studies have proved that tantrums are way more meaningful than that. Tantrums can be symtoms of: Unmet basic needs (sleep, hunger, thirst). Overstimuli. A need for quality time. Transition happening. Lots of boundaries (a need to explore). Disappointment (It's hard for me not to do the things that excite me). Remember, that the goal is to see things from the child's perspective and treat tantrums as symptoms that point to a greater need. How do you manage tantrums with your children? In this together! Dr. Alberto Ortiz

PARENTING IS HARD. We have spoken to hundreds of parents over the years. The following list is some of the thoughts we've heard many struggling parents genuinely believe about themselves. Let's debunk every single one of them now.... Finding it hard does NOT mean any of the following: you're a bad parent. you don't know what you're doing. your baby/toddler/child doesn't like you. you aren't cut out for it. you're a failure. you're a fraud. you're doing it all wrong. there is something terribly wrong with you. you should be guilty or ashamed. you will always feel this way. you will always struggle. your child would have been better off somewhere else. everyone but you feels this way. you don't love your children. You're finding it hard because it IS hard. Not because you're a bad parent. If you are reading this and you need additional support, you are NOT a failure. You're a modern-day Mum who needs a bit of a hand. Needing a hand is perfectly OK. At WSCC, we offer support for autistic families and their children with Stem Cell Therapy treatments that can transform autistic conditions by healing the gut, decreasing inflammation, and improving brain function. We also created an autistic community on Facebook that is destined to offer support and companionship for ASD parents and their families on their journey. Remember, you are not alone! https://www.facebook.com/groups/sct4asd

Foods to Help ASD Children Sleep Through the Night The following foods are known to have the right ingredients to help your children feel cozy, and help him/her fall asleep faster: Bananas: Bananas contain the amino acid L-tryptophan, which gets converted to 5-HTP in the brain. These aminos, get converted by the body into serotonin and melatonin, both relaxing neurotransmitters that help your child feel calm, peaceful, and sleepy.... Oatmeal: oatmeal is loaded with melatonin, this is another reason why it's perfect to be consumed at night. Melatonin can help your child feel tired and fall asleep faster. Chamomile: Chamomile is well known to be a sleep inducer and an overall tranquilizer. This can be traced back to the fact that it is rich in apigenin, an antioxidant that promotes sleep and fights insomnia. Kiwi: Although it has been said that we must not give fruit to children before bed due to fructose, with kiwi recent studies prove otherwise. In a four-week study, 24 people consumed two kiwi fruits one hour before going to bed each night. At the end of the study, participants fell asleep 42% more quickly than when they didn’t eat anything before bedtime. Have you tried any of these meals before bed? What is your child’s favorite?
