We are working on a piece of functional art for the new space that will explain the meaning of "tlayudona" and why we chose this word to name our project nearly five years ago. It has made us reflect a lot about native corn, tortillas, tostadas & tlayudas. We have several experiences that focus on the importance of corn in Oaxaca, and while they each refer to the same staple food, they span an array of disciplines, from gastronomy to agronomy and history.
