A GENUINE (though slightly modified) COZMOLUMIGRAPHOSCOPE, Carnarvon 57, once belonging to none other than noted adventurer and photo-documentarian Atraxis Nept...une Stavesacre and believed to be lost since the opening of the tomb in the Great Pyramid at the end of November 1922. Atraxis Neptune Stavesacre was a colorful fellow with a somewhat checkered past. As a young man he had traveled far and wide selling lightning rods, but searched for a safer livelihood after being struck by a bolt of thunderflash on a clear sunny day in Indiana in 1903. For a time he was paid intern and research assistant to Professor G. Lutton, the renowned Anthropophagiste. Later, as an avid tinkerer and self-taught inventor, he crafted an array of devices capable of recording sound and light anomalies and became legendary for his work with scientists and explorers in this world and others. Here it should be noted that on that November day, when the sarcophagus was opened, a cloud of biting blackflies and other flying things was released. The natives had it in their parchments and wall-scratchings that, if a chap’s soul was pure, the bites and stings wouldn’t harm him. Poor old Stavesacre died almost straightaway... in horrible anguish. Now in the Private collection of Viktor Budnik!

I'm re-posting these little treasures from the THIMBLERIG RESEARCH ARCHIVES of Vapouric-Electric Heliogravures. How we laughed in those days when troubled waters ran not nearly so deep.
