Este auto le fue regalado por su disquera tras su primer éxito, y contaba con algunas características diferentes a los de la producción normal, siendo unas de las más notorias la pintura azul obscuro llamada Nightmist Blue, faros redondos en la parrilla que más adelante Ford cambió por un formato cuadrado, un motor V8 428 Police Interceptor de 335 caballos de fuerza, interiores en claro y sin duda los rines de 10 rayos que hacían de este auto toda una belleza. Lo más curioso es que este espectacular auto se encuentra desaparecido y es de los más buscados en el mundo por toda la historia y misticismo que lo envuelve y por supuesto por haberse tratado del auto de El Rey Lagarto; existen varias historias acerca de su desaparición, siendo la que más nos gusta la versión en la que Jim Morrison manejaba erráticamente lo que lo llevo a tener un accidente en el auto, bajo de el abandonándolo, camino un par de cuadras y se metió a un bar para continuar con la fiesta, después de ese momento nunca volvio a ver su Shelby. En 2008 Hot Wheels de la mano de Jun Imai introduce esta belleza en sus líneas ocasionando que muchos coleccionistas la buscarán a cualquier costo.
