Your San Felipe Dog Rescue is looking for artists and crafters that might want to participate in the Arts and Craft Show on April 28 at La Vaquita Norte. The theme is San Felipe Doggie Derby. La Vaquita will be serving delicious Fish and Chips with fresh made Cole Slaw. Special Mint Julep drinks will be available. What a deal!! Marianne Clagett aka "The Hat Lady" will be displaying her specialty hats and caps at the big San Felipe Dog Derby Arts and Craft Show. This fun event will be held at La Vaquita Norte April 28. Marianne Clagett has graciously offered to sell these special Derby Day Caps for only $20.00 donating a full 50% $10.00 to your local SFDR. Orders taken at the show for these special caps will also qualify. Please come out and support your SFDR, your local artist/crafters and enjoy a wonderful San Felipe Classic Day. Our temperature has dropped and our rescued doggies could use some warm blankets, towels or anything that can be used to keep our kiddos warm. From its inception your Felipe Dog Rescue executive board have promised you, the volunteers, co-workers, in fact everyone involved with your SFDR complete transparency. This, especially as it relates to you, our supporters. Sfdr is after all, your organization. With that goal in mind, we'd like to share with you the approximate monthly expenses in US dollars that you may expect after our furloughs and other necessary reductions in costs are made.... Because of the constant fluctuation in dog and puppy population and health, some of these expenses will change from month to month while others will remain constant. These numbers are in USD. Veterinary and Medications: Approx. $3000.00 Payroll: Approx. $2000.00 Web services: $100.00 Wifi: $20.00 Dog food: Approx. $900.00 Water: $122.00 Electric: Approx. $102 Garbage: $43.00 Septic: $84.00* Total of Approx. $6371.00 USD of monthly expenses. *We are looking into replacement of the current septic tank with a septic system with leaching capability that will greatly reduce this expense. Bids will be in for review next week. Oh my. I'm so afraid. My feet hurt so badly they feel like they're on fire! Where am I? I thought I knew but then I almost got hit crossing a street. A street I don't seem to recognize. My friends; I can always count on my friends to help me when I'm down and out. But now I can't even find them. None of them. Where are my friends!? Oh my that smells so good. Can't stop though. Have to keep moving. Have to find something that looks familiar something that looks like it's wher...e I might find one of my buddies. What's all that noise over there somewhere? Sounds like cans. Maybe trash cans. Oh wow yeah, trash cans. Maybe I'm in a place where lots of people live. Maybe someone there could help me...but I'm so afraid. What? Wait? Who? Oh Wow! I was having a very bad dream. A dream of some of my old days here in San Felipe. Oh yeah, now I remember. Those were terribly bad days and nights. Somebody grabbed me and tied me up. I tried to fight them off but they just wouldn't give up. Then they brought me here to this awesome place where I was given a bath and then after I was all clean I went to a nice doctor. A few days later they brought me back here where this nice lady named Auntie Vickie at a place called Baja Bed and Biscuit took care of me. We became good friends. Auntie Vickie works with San Felipe Dog Rescue to save doggies just like me. Not to warehouse us in kennels forever but to find us new loving families looking for a bestest buddy just like me to come save them. I heard them talking this morning after I had a great breakfast of kibble and chicken with rice that I'd be leaving soon because I'm so cute and adorable. Well yeah!! Oh, if my friends could see me now. They'd be really jealous of my new and exciting life. If you're looking for a new bestest pal contact SFDR. Tell them Sammy sent you!! They all know me! Howdy all you dog lovers out there! People have asked me what they might be able to donate as far as goods and cleaning items that your SFDR could really use at the Puppy Palace. Here are a few items that we always need. Any brand of any of these items will work.... Dish/laundry soap Antibacterial Fabuloso Bleach Paper towels Toilet Paper Rice Chicken Legs and Thighs While your out shopping for your own needs if you could pick up some of what your SFDR needs we would truly appreciate it.
