The new ADLU connec...tion automates the sheet metal #loading and the machined sheet #unloading phases, with a cycle time of less than one minute, and it is naturally set up for integration with the MCU #sorting device or with any tray #store if required. ADLU is also a #flexible solution in terms of layout, because its floor-based structure is modular and can be adapted to the available spaces in the workshop. At the same time, ADLL, the Salvagnini connection with performance similar to the ADLU, but used in longitudinal configuration and which can be integrated with either a store or an MCU, is particularly suited to situations in which depth is a constraint. In configurations from 6 to 38 trays, with ultra-rapid cycles and high autonomy, the LTWS store-tower is an extremely compact high-end solution. It is available in single or double tower versions, with wooden pallets, without wooden pallets or mixed. Finally, for workshops requiring flexible yet extremely compact machines, the LTWS Compact is the ideal small solution. In 2014 Tecnolaser launched a major #digitalization program, with the declared aim of improving order management and #programming through to sending the machine programs to the workshop, and reducing the overall timing of this phase by at least 50% reducing or eliminating all redundant or low value-added activities, as well as any players or functions that were not necessary. In the design phase, process mapping highlighted that for around 6 hours of work from order recei...pt and data entry to programming, #nesting and sending the programs to the #machinery between 4 and 5 days were required before the order reached the shop floor. The partnership with Salvagnini played a vital role, leading to the implementation of OPS, the proprietary production management software. OPS acts as a central coordinator of the production environment: it receives the #production list from the factory #ERP in real-time and delivers it to the programmer in a constantly updated version, defining priorities, checking the availability of raw materials or semi-finished products in stock and tracking the parts once production has been completed. Once the project had been completed, the impact of OPS was amazing: the average time needed to manage an order and deliver the programs to the machine fell from 5 days to around 2 hours a 95% reduction. And similar savings were also obtained when changes were made to existing orders. But the most interesting effect was the elimination of the risk of error: automatically transferring the information allowed Tecnolaser to take a huge step forward. "We have always believed in digitalization, and we continue to do so," states Mario De Bardi, one of the 3 founding partners and a member of the board. "We have eliminated a lot of paperwork, and low value-added activities along with the relative waiting times, moving on to a lean logic in which the CAM leads production, selecting the material and thickness codes.
