Meet #Thea (cream) and #Mia (chocolate) I received a call last night from one of my fosters saying that they had just found two puppies trying to hide from the thunderstorm under a car. They are emaciated with swollen bellies from worms and we’re so so hungry. They were very scared at first but warmed up quickly as soon as they realized that there was kindness here. I went over with some puppy pads, food, medicine & to help get Oscar’s fosters situated with setting up a crate... (den) for the girls; they weren’t sure what to do with such young ones. It will never cease to amaze me that people can discard such young innocent and helpless lives like their garbage. Did a complete and total tick removal which took a little bit as both girls were quite infested in their paws and in their ears. They’ll get a bath each today with some nice warm water at body temperature to help them relax and to learn to trust baths and people. It is amazing how incredibly cuddly they are as soon as their bellies had something in them. Mia actually took a few bites and then was more interested in being petted and loved on than the food! Thea def wanted to eat Mia kept flipping over and showing me her belly while looking up at me from upside down lol. While their rescuer and foster mum held them and I took some pics, the fear of the day drained away and they relaxed. Bellies full, feeling the love and safety all around them, they were drifting off in her arms. We put them into their den where they were so happy and squirmed around. Wagging tails while being held and not a peep while I took ticks off them even though it wasn’t fun. They accepted that we were there to help them very quickly and the trust grew each moment. Oscar investigated them but stayed back so as not to intimidate. Lucy Lu- the foster’s dog- wanted a closer inspection and had to be educated in not going into their den. Vet visit today to see what all they need. These two beauties are up for adoption and can travel after four months old. Please share this to all!!!
Remember a while back there were a couple guys that wanted to watch a rescue? a day in the life of Ranchito Rescate and what it’s all about? They unexpectedly went back to the states but they put together this post on their various social media pages and I thought that was really kind of them to get the babies more awareness. Head over to their pages and give them some likes; whether on TickTock or Instagram or Facebook or YouTube and share the pages far and wide. Getting some more people aware of the plight and horrors of the dogs here as well as getting more people involved and interested in their care and in their rescue. TIA
