It's so sad to see the collective product of our overconsumption. It's manifested in landfills, ocean acidification, deforestation, climate change, ocean garbage patches, plastic pollution in fish, human exploitation, resource exploitation, and so much more. The first step in reducing our consumption is to take an audit of what's in your own trash and decide how to start reducing the consumption of those things. Are you finding lots of plastic produce bags? Choose reusable bags! Are you finding disposable coffee cups? Bring your own next time! Packaging? Maybe it's time to shop smarter and choose more sustainable products. Every person must decide together to do better.
