After a long dive at Cenote Cristal with Skanda, Jake made the most of his deco by practicing different towing options for those dives that require a redundant DPV.

During his Euro trip teaching the KISS Rebreathers Sidewinder, Patrick joined up with the Xdeep crew in Poland for a couple of days of diving/shooting. Check out these super eerie images captured from inside a Post-Soviet Uranium mine. Surprisingly this was Patrick’s first experience mine diving, and to say he loved it is an understatement!

Amber Garcia flew down from Texas to train with Kim for the weekend. 2 x amazingly productive days of diving, 6 x INTRO TO CAVE dives, smashing out 355 minutes (almost 6 hours) of dive time. We practiced laying line, gas sharing, zero visibility gas sharing, failures both with and without visibility, finning techniques, moving and growing her diving repertoire through some amazing caves. Enjoying that real breakthrough moment in training.... Amber is working her way up towards FULL CAVE and has taken a huge step in her progression these last two days. Well done Amber!!!

We had to retire our old coffee machine and call in for reinforcements. Anyone that’s been diving with ProTec the last decade knows that, no coffee no diving... That’s how important it is in the mornings...... Always fresh, always free for staff and guests.

BEFORE and AFTER... The motto and mantra for this 4 x day CAVE SIDEMOUNT crossover for Tibor who trained with Kim down in Tulum, turned out to be. - You don’t know what you don’t know...... Continual training gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, review and refresh your old skills. It has value to hear different instructors, specialized in different regions and environments explain their points of view. Learn something new Refresh the old Level up We are also very flexible to work with what students have, it’s not always about the resources, it’s about resourcefulness. Tibor’s rig was a hybrid of different systems, but with a few days tweaking we created a lean and mean sidemount rig, now named The Silverback due to having the weight pocket bolted straight to the BCD. A Sidemount program with extra everything skills wise, loads of practice in both open water and cave. Great energy in the course. Tibor is a local performer, acrobat, circus artist and also professional diver and photographer. So we are looking forward to having him around ProTec in the future for more diving and adventures. Great work Tibor, congrats on competing CAVE SIDEMOUNT (Level 1).
