Regenerative Gardening by @kameachayne of @greendreamerpodcast What is Regenerative Gardening? This feature on me and my work by @kameachayne explains it best. ... I absolutely love this video and so happy that I can share it with you here (thanks Kamea!). We don't live in a dead world that has living beings in "it". Our wold is living, and regenerative gardening is literally just remembering this once again, and learning to treat this Earth as the living being SHE is. All indigenous cultures believe in a living world. Plants, stones, mountains are not "items" or "resources," they are ANCESTORS. We do not live "on" the Earth, we ARE the Earth. We are soil in form, in motion. We are all Nature. The concept of nature is actually quite strange to me. Western cultures define nature as what they are not, what people are not. I'd rather not use this word. I'm also sick of talking about "climate change" and "carbon", as if they are isolated problems in a disconnected world. We don't have a multitude of challenges with multitudes of sources. We have a multitudes of challenges that are expressions of one major underlying source: we no longer recognize ourselves as this EarthBody. Climate change, racism, inequality, depression/anxiety, chronic disease - they arise from the same soil. Our soil is degraded, in need of care. We are in need of care. I don't have the answers. I think the framework of problem/answer, broken/fix is the wrong approach. The experience we are having is one Earth has chosen for us. She is exploring herself, her boundaries. Our role is not to "figure it out," but to respond to the experience. Search ourselves for healing. Find our role and our meaning. Okayyyy, this was supposed to be a post about gardening. I can't help it if I see the world as a garden.
