On March 3, World Wildlife Day is celebrated, a date proclaimed in 2013 by the United Nations General Assembly, in commemoration of the Anniversary of the approval in 1973 of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Wild Flora. This date is also known as World Nature Day. Poaching and species trafficking are the most important threats to wildlife, although there are other causes that also concern such as habitat loss and climate change. @nomadecinematravel #DescubreteNomade #TravelerFilmmakers #wildlife #worldnature #flora #fauna

Calakmul means in Mayan "Two Adjacent Mounds" (Ca two, adjacent Lak, Mul artificial mound or pyramid), a name that refers to the two large structures that dominate the jungle. Calakmul was discovered at the beginning of the 30s of the last century, but it is until the 80s that systematic investigations allow discovering the essence of this city as one of the most important of the Classic Maya. The most recent investigations have concluded that Calakmul is the most important ...city of the Classic Maya and together with Tikal and Palenque they headed the political organization of the highlands. Hieroglyphic studies have accounted for a history of wars between Calakmul and Tikal for almost a century of history, which speaks of the political rivalry of these cities. @nomadecinematravel #DescubreteNomade #TravelerFilmmakers #Calakmul #campeche #maya #archeology #culture

In Mexico, its pre-Hispanic past has given it endless knowledge and tradition, enriched by European influences, which can be seen in its timeless crafts. Because unlike the industrial product, in the artisan piece the craftsman puts his personality note in each step he takes, uses ancestral materials and techniques, and summarizes centuries of history in his work. In the Casa de la Alfarería - Pulhtáma of the Centro de Artes Indígenas (CAI), Totonac women share the ancestral ...methods of pottery and show the way in which traditional pots and various ornaments were made, so there is no risk that this tradition disappears; the boys and girls who regularly attend classes show great abilities, which facilitates their learning. The techniques are learned from parents and grandparents, but are also transmitted between people who do not have family ties. Thus, while some family stops producing when they change their profession, there is always someone who takes up the tradition and prints their own stamp on it. @nomadecinematravel #DescubreteNomade #TravelersFilmmakers #Postal #CinemaSeries #CentrodeArtesIndígenas #CasadelaAlfareria #Pulhtáma #veracruz #mexico #pottery #alfareria #traditions #cultures #ethnic #veracruzcultural #igersmexico #igersveracruz #veracruz_photos #veracruzmexico #secturveracruz #visitveracruz

Since its inception, Earth Day achieved a political coincidence that seemed impossible, counting on the support of different trends and economic position, as well as ordinary people, tycoons and union leaders. The global celebration led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as the passage of laws related to clean air and water, and the conservation of endangered species. From then on, every year on this date, the whole world refle...cts and mobilizes for a better Earth. @nomadecinema #DescubreteNômade #TravelerFilmmakers #Pachamama #EarthDay #Worldwide

Nestled in the heart of the Lacandon Jungle, in the Lacanha river valley, a few kilometers from the border with Guatemala, lie the vestiges of this important Mayan city, whose apogee occurred in the Late Classic (600-800 AD). Compared to other sites in the area, such as Yaxchilan and Palenque, Bonampak (painted walls) is small in size, occupying only 4 square meters. The Great Plaza and the Acropolis stand out from the complex. In the first, several stelae are raised with representations of characters, perhaps rulers of the place, wearing elaborate attire. Its last sovereign, Chaan Muan II, whose mandate began in 776 of our era, is represented on one of the stelae. @nomadecinematravel #DescubreteNomade #TravelerFilmmakers #bonampak #chiapas #archeology #culture

On March 19, the work of each and every one of the artisans who mold the memory of the peoples with their hands is commemorated. The craftsman is a person whose work is related to all those crafts. Everything that he makes is sold directly to the seller without there being any intermediary in between. The craftsman stands out for his great creativity to make unique objects. @nomadecinematravel #DescubreteNômade #TravelerFilmmakers #diainternacionaldelartesano #artesano #artesania #mexico #worldwide
