Friday we were super surprised when we stopped by Puras Cosas Buenas on Avenida Jose Bolio in Colonia Mexico. This is a holistic center, cafe and natural organi...c food products store all in one. We were invited out to check out the concept and hear about the --quite franky--amazing things that they are doing. The store Puras Cosas Buenas is their center in Merida, but all the products come from a ranch about 2 hours out of the city close to Oxkutzcab. It all started with a group of Italian friends who came to Mexico over 20 years ago. They came with the idea of healthy and natural living in a community where they all shared responsibilities. Over the years they, of course, have made many friends who have also joined their community. Their ranch is called Las Aguilas and they also have Las Aguilas Eco Spa At their ranch, they have milk cows, goats, organic gardens and fruit trees. They make a variety of phenomenal Italian cheeses as well as an assortment of dairy products. They use the fresh ingredients from their gardens and orchards to make traditional herbal medicines, tinctures, and cosmetics. Also coming from the ranch are all the ingredients used their cafe where you can eat freshly baked desserts, pies as well as panini's, gnocchi and other Italian lunch meals. Some are also incredible artisans and make leather bags--which I will be going back for!--shoes, earrings, lamps, dolls and a variety of gifts. At Pura Cosas Buenas they also offer holistic treatments such as biomagneticism, Bach flower, emotional unblocking among others. In summary, I was walking around with my mouth wide open in amazement. We even tried some of their goodies a the MID CityBeat coffee tasting event held yesterday at Cardinal Travel Store with Proyecto Hermano and everyone was raving about the cheese and apple pie :)) Definitely a place worth checking out!
