Fishing in Cancun *We still have some sailfish in the area. The winter bait balls are slowly moving away from the spawning grounds. (North side of isla mujeres) ... *The bait is just starting east of Cancun by arrowsmith bank. (The edge of the continental shelf) *On the troll we can expect to target sailfish till the end of June along with white and blue marlin, mahi mahi, black fin tuna and wahoo. *Keep in mind that from now on this is a hunting game, We do encourage our guests in to taking the most amount of time that can give themselves to have a successful day (if we are targeting billfish) 8 to 12 hrs are recommended. *Bottom fishing is excellent. (Recommend for shorter trips) We are still having large schools of amberjacks, grouper, mutton snapper, and some cuberas await at 280 to 300’ of water, these are awesome species to target with vertical jigs, live bait or chunks.
