Surf Tip Time | Wave Anatomy . . Here is a quick lesson on two different parts of the wavesthe pocket and the shoulder. .... The pocket is where the white water meets the face of the wave. As you move away from the white water, and the pocket of the wave, you get to the shoulder. The shoulder is the part of the wave that has not yet broken. . Knowing how far on the shoulder you are is super important when trying to catch waves.
