This beautiful flower belongs to the maracuyá, also known as passion fruit. Cultivated in various tropical states of Mexico, this exotic fruit is protected by a hard outer shell and inside, its fleshy pulp is a divine mix of both sweet and tart flavors. As of September 2020, Lesley, owner and co-founder of Eat Mexico, has decided to pursue other endeavors and leave the company permanently. We feel very grateful for all Lesley created, for all the years she dedicated to making this company what it is today. She has left Eat Mexico in Ariane and Angeles´ hands both of whom have been in the company for many years. Ariane, as Expert Guide and Operations Manager; and Angeles, as Client Service Specialist. ... Together, they dream of continuing Eat Mexico as it has been up to date a food tour company whose main objective is sharing Mexican food with the world and offering culinary experiences that our clients will never forget. We hope you continue giving us the opportunity to share with you the delicacies our country has to offer.
Pan Dulce from Panificadora San Simón, located in the neighborhood of Portales. This traditional bakery opened its doors in 1953. The owners are descendants of a Spanish family that moved to Mexico shortly after the Civil War in Spain. All of their offerings are freshly baked on a daily basis right on the premises and every day pan dulce is donated to 25 different hospitals across the city to support relatives of hospitalized patients. #eatmexico #mexicocity #eatmexicotours #foodtours #cdmx #mexicocityfood #mexicangastronomy #mexicancuisine #mexicanfood #traditionalexperiences #uniqueexperiences #culinarytours #visitmexico #welovemexico #food #foodie #pandulce #bakedgoods #mexicanbakedgoods #yummytreats #supportingsmallbusinesses

"UTSA’s Mexican cookbook collection, the largest-known trove of Mexican and Mexican-American cookbooks in North America. It started with a donation of nearly 550 books from San Antonio resident Laurie Gruenbeck in 2001, amassed during her decades of travel throughout Mexico. It now has more than 2,000 books, including some of renowned chef and scholar Diana Kennedy’s rarest books, as well as her personal papers". [...] Anyone can visit the collection, but, Noell says, I want anybody with an internet connection to be able to see these works. Toward that end, the UTSA has stepped up digitization efforts to get the majority of their older booksin particular the fragile, one-of-a-kind manuscript cookbooksnot just scanned but transcribed, so the contents are searchable. https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/mexican-cookbook
