This beautiful flower belongs to the maracuyá, also known as passion fruit. Cultivated in various tropical states of Mexico, this exotic fruit is protected by a hard outer shell and inside, its fleshy pulp is a divine mix of both sweet and tart flavors. The pulp, leaves and flowers, can be used to make infusions that aid calming headaches. #eatmexico #eatmexicoculinarytours #eatmexicofoodtours #mexicocity #snacktime #eatmexicotours #travel #foodtours #marketstalls #mexicocitymarkets #mexicomarkets #cdmx #mexicocityfood #mexicangastronomy #mexicancuisine #mexicanfood #traditionalexperiences #uniqueexperiences #culinarytours #visitmexico #welovemexico #fruit #mexicanfruit #bestfoodtours #food #foodie #maracuya #passionfruit #flowers #colors

"UTSA’s Mexican cookbook collection, the largest-known trove of Mexican and Mexican-American cookbooks in North America. It started with a donation of nearly 550 books from San Antonio resident Laurie Gruenbeck in 2001, amassed during her decades of travel throughout Mexico. It now has more than 2,000 books, including some of renowned chef and scholar Diana Kennedy’s rarest books, as well as her personal papers". [...] Anyone can visit the collection, but, Noell says, I want anybody with an internet connection to be able to see these works. Toward that end, the UTSA has stepped up digitization efforts to get the majority of their older booksin particular the fragile, one-of-a-kind manuscript cookbooksnot just scanned but transcribed, so the contents are searchable. https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/mexican-cookbook
