Se encuentran sobre y debajo de las roca...s en la zona intermareal a profundidades de hasta 18 m (60 pies). se alimentan casi exclusivamente de demosponjas. La reproducción de la Morena Verde (Gymnothorax funebris) es un misterio. Suelen ser solitarios la mayor parte de su vida, viviendo entre rocas y con hábitos nocturnos. Es una especie dioica (existen hembras y machos) y se han observado encuentros sexuales a 400 m, lo cual hace a la especie más misteriosa. Durante su juventud son hermafroditas que con el paso del tiempo adopta, dependiendo de factores ambientales, un sexo fijo.... En nuestro buceo de exploración en Isla del Carmen nos encontramos de frente este enorme Mantarraya águila (Autobotes narinari). Las mandíbulas de la mantarraya le dan un aspecto muy peculiar cuando la vez de frente, esto contrasta con la imagen que te da cuando se aleja: su bello color, su larga cola (la cola de esta mantarraya era casi del doble que su cuerpo) y su imponente forma de nadar la hacen parecer un ser místico.... ¡Bucear en sí mismo es un acto místico! In our exploration dive in Isla del Carmen we came across this huge Eagle Manta Ray (Autobotes narinari). The jaws of the manta ray give it a very peculiar appearance when you look at it from the front, this contrasts with the image it gives you when it moves away: its beautiful color, its long tail (the tail of this manta ray was almost twice its body) and her imposing way of swimming make her look like a mystical being.
