A flea market dollhouse. Dollar store treasures. Paint, moss, twigs and cobwebs I had laying around and a LOT of hot glue = my favorite Halloween hack yet. Updating to include instructions since so many people asked... Dollhouse - Loving Family Fisher Price dollhouse circa 98 (I think). My daughter spotted it at a flea market and we picked it up for $40. Paint - 3 coats of matte black spray paint and then wet sponged metallic silver paint on all the details. I had to cut a tiny sponge and glue it to the end of a pencil to get into the door frames and close to the eaves. Lights - Cheap dollar store strand of lights that are scotch taped inside. Trees - Chopped up fake moss from the dollar store. I cut tree shapes out of aluminum foil, glued tons of "weed" to it and then shaped it to the plastic bushes. I used small sticks and moss to cover up all the plastic hearts and happy birds. Accents - The little skull and crossbones were from a dollar store necklace that I cut up and painted. The curtains inside were small pieces of cheese cloth from the dollar store (see the theme?) I haven't done anything to the inside yet. Just spray paint and very rudimentary silver paint. I plan to add distressed wallpaper, furniture, real lighting etc over the years and fill up all the rooms.
