A mid-week reminder! We hope you are having a blessed week, blessing others, and being a light!

Some of you might remember seeing these cars during your trip to Juarez. Many of you wondered why they were lined up like this AND why they were boarded up. These cars belong to Jose Antonio. For many years he worked for the Government in Juarez and every year he would receive a bonus. With that bonus he would buy a car. Instead of selling the cars, he decided to keep them lined up outside of his house as a collection!

A few weeks ago the staff from Amigo Fiel set out once again to deliver groceries to people in need. Since the kids still weren't back at AF daily, we chose to utilize this time to reach out even further than our immediate neighborhood. - - We met Carlos Aguilar on one of our trips. He lives in a tiny, one room space where he gathers odds and ends to sell. Carlos probably makes anywhere from $20-$30 per week selling his wares. We were thankful to be able to deliver groceries to him, learn about his life and pray for him!

On Saturday we visited downtown Juarez to distribute Bible's and feed the homeless and immigrants in the area. Many of the people often go days without eating and typically sleep around the plaza. The team worked to warm tortillas, serve tacos, and most importantly, share the saving story of Jesus Christ. For this outreach we partnered the ministry Ex-Prisoners Transformed for Christ. As the name suggests, the men involved are ex-prisoners who gave their life to Jesus. The main purpose of the ministry is to go into jails and prisons in Juarez to evangelize. This was a special outreach for everyone involved!

This past weekend we were able to work alongside a small mens group from First Baptist Church in Bossier, LA. This committed group of men spent the weekend repairing roofs and ministering to the people of Juarez.

Earlier this year when the pandemic was at its peak, Alberto and his wife, Francisca, lost their home and most of their belongings in a fire. Thankfully, no one was injured. To make matters more difficult, Alberto had just been laid off from his job. The home they lost was made up of wooden shipping pallets and cardboard (see picture #3). Amigo Fiel was able to help Alberto and Francisca build a new home over the summer. They are now settled into their new space that, in many... ways, is better than the home they lost. - - Friends, it's situations like these that make us so thankful for the support we receive from you. Friends, we has a visit fro Juanita Aguilar this past week. She has been connected to AF for many years now and we can always count on her to be wearing a great hat! She shared with is that her son, Juan Valdez, was killed 5 months ago. Then, 5 days late her brother, Ricardo Fernandez Aguilar was also killed. Please pray that God would comfort her and supply all her needs.
