Real de Catorce, un lugar perdido en el tiempo. Este ya denominado Pueblo Mágico pertenece al norte del estado de San Luis Potosí en medio de montañas que hacen que el paisaje sea aún más rustico. Otro mote adquirido de este lugar es el de Pueblo Fantasma, la historia data desde el año 1773, cuando los mineros Sebastián Coronado y Manuel Martínez descubrieron una de las minas de plata más fructíferas del virreinato que siguió operando hasta bien entrado el siglo XX. ... Una vez que los minerales se terminaron y varias minas se derrumbaron, poco a poco los mineros emigraron hasta dejarlo tal y como luce ahora: como un pueblo fantasma donde sólo se contemplan muros de piedra, casas polvorosas, naturaleza salvaje y el paso del tiempo. El túnel del tiempo Luego de que el presidente Porfirio Díaz tuviera que cruzar la cima de los cerros a caballo para llegar hasta Real de Catorce y conocer la nueva maquinaria que se utilizaría para excavar minas en junio de 1895, surgió la idea por parte del mandatario de construir un túnel que facilitará el acceso al pueblo. Este túnel fue inaugurado el 2 deabril de 1901 y se le conoce como Túnel Ogarrio con una distancia de casi 2.3 kilómetros, dentro del mismo se ubican numerosas bocaminas que hoy en día se encuentran cerradas o derrumbadas. En su mayoría los visitantes comentan que al cruzar este túnel se siente una energía diferente e incluso aseguran que un viaje a Real de Catorce es un viaje completamente espiritual. ¿Cómo llegar? No existe una ruta directa a Real de Catorce, es más fácil llegar al estado de San Luis Potosí y tomar una ruta de autobús que se dirija al municipio de Matehuala una vez que has llegado a la Central Camionera, de la misma Central salen autobuses al Real a las 8, 12, 14 y 18 hrs. Es necesario un transbordo en el túnel Ogarrio, cuyo costo está incluido en el precio. Todo este traslado puede durar hasta 4 horas y media. Si viajas en auto propio el viaje se reduce a 3 horas partiendo desde el mismo punto. También puedes contratar un servicio de transporte privado que conozca los puntos turísticos más importantes de cada lugar.
