I am working on getting it on Windy.com as well, though it is not playing nicely with me at the moment. I'll post when I get that working. For those weather nerds out there, I am trying a new weather station. It's a WeatherFlow Tempest. It doesn't have any moving parts, so I'm hoping it will last a bit longer than the Acu-Rite's I had been using. #Xcalak #XcalakWeather

I've been a little quiet on the Facebooks lately, I've driven 6400 Miles in 3 weeks, half of it with a couple of my best friends, then came home to fish the Silver Scales Fly Fishing tournament here in Xcalak. I'll be posting a bunch of stuff but for the moment, check out this video from early in the trip. Went to Isla Holbox to fish with @Alejandro Vega Cruz This is Wylie, he trout set on the first 3 baby tarpon he got to eat so our guide @Carlos Ruiz Sanchez got up on the deck to help Wylie keep his rod down.

For all those planning on competing in the Silver Scales Tournament @escamas plateades this year (August 6-8, 2021), as of today the US still requires a negative COVID-19 Antigen test to return home. Dr. Ryan came back to Xcalak to do another free pediatric dental clinic for the kids of Xcalak. This time he brought another fly fishing pediatric dentist Dr. Garth. This time they brought a portable dental office and were able treat 22 kids including 7 extractions. And talk about instant Karma. They had been having tough weather conditions for fishing with lots of wind and clouds. The day after the clinic it was sunny with little to no wind. And they landed 10 permit between two boats with Capt. Felipe Miravete de Castro and Capt. Julio Gomez. Oh and a father son double permit, and a tarpon. Not bad, not bad.

Rune and Inge, first time chasing permit, but experienced in the salt. Rune got 4 permit and a grand slam and Inge got two nice permit. Not a bad trip. :D #acocoteecoinn #saltwaterflyfishing #xcalak #permitonthefly #diadelosgrandslams

So this is only a month late. But during the welcome dinner for the Silver Scales Fly Fishing tournament this year. I was presented with a plaque in recognition of service to the community of Xcalak. Many thanks to the organizers of the tournament (@Escamas Plateadas and @mauricio osorio) I am deeply honored and humbled. They also had plaques for guests of the Inn, Dr. @Ryan Mickleson and Dr. Garth Stoddard thanking them for doing free pediatric dental clinics in the town of Xcalak. Thank you!
